Make sure that the processor is compatible with the motherboard. You may have the settings in the BIOS, or clear the CMOS memory.

This is normal. My Athlon XP 2000 + should run at 1667MHz, but after the update, which sometimes comes to 1250MHz. This is the motherboard for caution.

Press in the BIOS (F1 or delete a rule, if your PC is running), for call options, use default values and the optimal use of the default values. Go for the best.

I had this problem once. Some systems can both above and below the system clock. The speed can be combined with certain adjustments, either in the BIOS, you will need. See the instructions on the motherboard and / or heatsink and graphics card you have purchased. You can also try this topic on Google for your motherboard model and the standard heat sink and see if others have the same slowdown, which is described here, experienced

I do not know the answer for you, but an idea of where to look. Check the details of the motherboard of your CPU. The motherboards have "set CPU clock speed or voltage. Check carefully, because if your CPU clock?" Let's Say Now you can smoke!
